PPL, GHPL to explore oil in eastern offshore

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) in collaboration with the Government Holding Private Limited (GHPL) would embark on the exploration of oil in the eastern offshore.

The government had issued a license for this exploration to GHPL. Besides PPL and GHPL have already inked an agreement in this regard, which envisages that PPL would launch an exploration drive in the C Block of eastern offshore spanning over 2494-kilometre area.

The PPL is presently procuring gas from Sui Field, Mizarani, Kandhkot and Adhi Fields, while the company possesses eight exploration licenses and seven for development, production and lease.

The PPL presently produces 770 million cubic feet of gas, while 3,870 barrels of oil per day besides 70 metric tons of LPG every day. app
